🔥Best Time to do Cardio🔥⁣ ⁣ @hunter_pauley ⁣ 🧪One of the most popular questions I get asked, “When is the best time to do cardio?”⁣ ⁣ 🧪Depending on your performance goals, strategically placing and planning your cardio is extremely important.⁣ ⁣ 🧪When you perform extensive cardio before a workout, you are depleting your glycogen (stored carbohydrates/energy) stores. Depleting glycogen stores can and will possibly lead to decreased performance for your resistance training. HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) is extremely demanding and is known for producing higher blood lactate levels aka “muscle soreness” (Wiewelhove 2018). I would advice against performing HIIT, especially before lower body days. I do recommend doing a light warmup session to help with getting loose, increasing blood flow, and overall preparing you for the weights. However, do not categorize a light warm up and cardio together.⁣ ⁣ 🧪Is fasted cardio better? NO. Body composition changes with cardio in conjunction with a caloric deficit are similar regardless of if the individual is fasted prior to training (Schoenfeld 2014). Burning more of one substrate (carb, fat, pro, etc), you naturally will burn LESS of that substrate over the next 24hrs (Paoli 2011). Therefore, it was concluded that it was more effective to train AFTER breakfast for long term weight loss.⁣ ⁣ 🧪Doing your cardio either after your resistance training or separate from your resistance training will always lead to the best results. Whether, you do cardio on rest days, after weights, or separate sessions…doing what works best for you is what matters the most!⁣ _____________________ #squats #deadlift #armday #chestworkout #fitness #fit #fitnessmotivation #gym #gymmotivation #cardio #abs #absworkout #gains #weightlifting #bodybuilding #fitnessnutrition #diet #dietplan #gymtips #fitnesstips #exercise #exercisemotivation #fatlosstips #weightlossdiary #weightlosss #fatlosshelp #diettips @getfitwithbola bolafitness Bolafit

I do all the “no S” on the list Cardio (5km run) then > HIIT (circuits) the. > weights fasted. Tried the other way round and heart rate is lower and don’t feel warmed up for weights. Do what works for YOU!

Cardio before is the best way of waking up, warming up, and preparing your body for your workout session. You only need about 5 minutes or about 40 calories, don’t wear yourself out.
