Sometimes the mind goes to negative places and it can get stuck there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wish we were taught to EXPECT this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I get in negative places a few times per year (happens to everyone). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I get less enthusiastic about stuff. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For some reason I feel guilty about getting in this negative space in my head. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I forget this is to be expected. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I forget EVERYONE goes through this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think it is extremely tough to "think your way out" of a negative mindset. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your mind is in a weak place at this point. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some people turn to drugs or drinking. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The way I look at trying to becomes happy off of drinking or drugs is BORROWING happiness from the future. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For every 1 unit of happiness drugs give you now, you lose 5 units of happiness in the future. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because of this... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I believe exercise is crucial during these times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The mind follows the body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The body and mind are more connected than most people realize. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you stand in a power pose, you become more confident. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you make yourself smile the mind experiences a little more happiness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ...and when you exercise I'm convinced you can force your mind to take a more positive outlook on life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Exercise could be the greatest mind-hack that I know of. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For me, here is the craziest thing about this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Looking back on my down moments in life, almost all of them happened when I let my exercise routine slide. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did I exercise less because I was slightly depressed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ OR... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Was I slightly depressed due to lack of exercise? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I think exercise is just as important for mental health as it is for physical health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Something to think about 👊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ @ghallfitness ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ www.ghallfitness.com ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - - - - - - - - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #fitnessmotivation #gymmotivation #fitnessphysique #healthychanges #healthygoals #healthgoals #weightlosstips #healthyliving #healthcoaching #summerbody #summerbodygoals #ghallfitness #summerbod #igfitfam #motivation101 #nevergiveup #quoteoflife #motivationoftheday #fatlosstips #fatlossjourne @ghallfitness ghallfitness Gerard Hall
