“If you don’t finish all your broccoli you can’t eat dessert” “Chips and cookies are bad for you” Sound familiar as a child? Does to me. Food labeling, making “junk” foods off limits, demonizing vegetables, etc. As a parent, it’s so important to watch what you say to your children because we carry those ideas about food as we grow up. Sure it doesn’t affect all of us but it COULD lead to EDs down the road or insecurities about one’s self/ relationships around food. Here’s my advice: Kids have natural hunger cues so there’s no need to force them to clean their plates- especially to reward a them with dessert. When you have to reward a child dessert it makes the vegetables you’re trying to make them eat or the food you’re trying to make them eat less palatable. Keep chips, cookies, ice cream, etc in the house as a treat every once and a while. If you completely restrict your child from these foods- they will binge eat them whenever they find the certain foods you deemed off limits- like at a friends house for example. All foods fit in moderation! Don’t mess up their peace with food 🙏🏼 . . . #fitness #fitnessmotivation #fitnessmodel #fitnessjourney #fitmodel #fitgirlsguide #fitnessgirlsmotivation #fitspiration #fitfam #fitlifestyle #gymtime #gymlifestyle #fit #instafitfam #bodybuilder #healthier #bikinicompetition #bikinicompetitor #happyandhealthy #fitness #npcnationals #gymmotivation #npc #rdapproved #bairaesthetics #gymfit #roadtopro #peacewithfood #dietitian #allfoodsfit @lianagiannafitness lianagiannafitness Liana Giannamore, MS, CPT, RYT
