Incredible vibes at SLAY last night for the SELF-LOVE edition! . Thanks to @redmagazine for coming and to @allbright for having me as a regular part of their empowerment events program with this work. . Thanks to my hilarious and honest guests @thelondonhughes and @persialawson And thanks to everyone who met, bonded, swapped events and collaborated! . Hell yes to #womensupportingwomen and also to the men in the audience (sorry not sorry about the uncensored stories #tocatchadick) . Here’s the thing I want to remind us all of: Our lives are living, breathing stories with ups and downs, good and bad experiences - BUT we do have control over how that story plays out with the power of our thoughts and the perseverance to become aware of, and then choose, what our dominant thought process about ourselves is. We can neutralise the BS we have been led to believe is true about ourselves (NB it isn’t ACTUALLY true) - and rocket power into more loving thoughts about who we are AT OUR CORE, daily. It requires some persistence. I know that. I see it constantly with women - it is doable. . We can edit, amend, and totally AUTHOR our life story rather than agree to be readers of it. We must have compassion for our shitty circumstances (God knows they happen) and have the positive end to our story in sight (literally, actually - visualise and visionboarding) to keep us accountable. DM or let me know if this makes sense to you. If I doesn’t, I want to talk. You CAN take the power back, because we are power itself. Top take-home tips: Self-love doesn’t mean being full of yourself, neither should we confuse it with such, or shame others who love themselves fully of it triggers us. Avoid comparison or dulling your shine because you will be bringing light to someone, somewhere. . Find a good support network of women who lift you up and encourage your own purpose and value eg @allbright Or @slayretreats (Obvs!) #sisterhoodworks . Cultivate new habits. Stay dedicated to self-love by diarising moments and having physical space (@thelondonhughes uses her car to say affirmations, I use my daily bath!)
