Good luck to you
This show is an abomination, in which people who are supposed to be “health professionals” physically and emotionally abuse fat people for profit. As @bodypositivephd says - they prescribe behaviors to fat people that they would diagnose and treat in thin people. They can call it a “reboot” and claim that it’s not just about weight, but it’s still called The Biggest Loser, it’s still perpetuating this legacy, it’s still flaming garbage.

Good luck to you
I know I risk sounding naive - because money - but I am choosing to believe that the same power that was witnessed on social media when a well-worded post resulted in Macy's removing the fat shaming plates from their shelves will repeat itself in this case. @usa_network has surely got at least SOME executives who understand how terribly tone deaf and damaging this reboot idea is?
Couldn’t agree with you more!
I HATE THAT SHOW
Totally agree. I was so wrapped up with that show - US and AUS versions. I followed Jillian Michaels avidly and even went to see her speak live. This show led me on a restrictive clean eating and weight lifting path for a while. It massively perpetuates weight discrimination as well. I was talking to a lovely bopo group recently about those kinds of TV shows, based around a shaming people. In the UK we had What not to wear, 10 years younger, extreme makeover. All designed to make you feel bad about yourself. That you are not enough as you are. That a a woman the best thing you can be is slim and youthful Angry 😡 It’s terrible TV and no wonder watching all that shite as a 20-something that I had/have body image issues. 😤
I recall a winner who once was showing his abdomen in the finale. Skin that "should" have been sagging was loose but up against his body. Some expert was saying that he had to have been very hydrated for it to look like that.
A somewhat similar show is about to air in France, it's called "project Renaissance" (ugh) and centers bariatric surgery specifically. The producer/host has financial interests in the cosmetic surgery clinic featured in the show as all participants have to sign up for extra skin removal. It makes me so, So mad.
