“BALANCE” while being a nurse
First “balance” is different for everyone. I take life day by day give myself some grace but also remember to be honest: am I being lazy or am I truly too tired.
Workouts: I typically don’t workout on days I work unless I’m feeling it. This means hitting it hard the other 4 days and not messing around. I still only spend about 1 hour in the gym but I don’t mess around. I’m working hard, minimal rest, and heavy weights.
Mealprep: I stick to my prep, never go to the cafeteria and stay out of the break room. I try to stay full- it’s too easy to reach for the candy, cupcakes and donuts if I’m starving. And no shame just ate a @squareorganics bar while I was peeing #multitasking #tmi
Sleep: do what you have to do- sometimes I have to say no to events because I NEED to sleep
Water: CHUG! I drink 500mL when I first wake up, another when I get to the floor and another before I go to bed so I get at least 1.5 liters without “trying”

That water idea is 👌🏻
Best water advice I have heard !!!!
Beautiful You 🙌💫
The break room will get you EVERY time! 🍩 🧁 🍫🍪 Just stay away! 🙅🏼♀️🤣
Was it trial and error to find foods that keep you satiated?
Good question !
I’m in nursing school right now and I haven’t gone to the gym but once since starting 😢 I can’t find the time to go between work school and my son.
ER nurse here and I feel this in my soul. 😂 Our cafeteria has the BEST food. Taco bar, Phillies, Chinese buffet, you name it. Nearly 50 pounds down and going strong 💪
Love these tips! And that you say balance is different for everyone 👌❤️
Hi! 👋. Saw one of your posts on another page and it had “protein cream cheese”, with French toast, what is protein cream cheese?
Any suggestions for eating schedule on nightshift? I've been trying to research the best things but have read so much conflicting information! ❤️
I’m a nurse too and that breakroom can be such a downfall to reaching my goals. I commit every day to not touch any food I did not pack!! It helps. Lol
Yay! You can make it work! I’m nearly finished with NS and wondering how to keep it together on the job. Meal prep and workouts have kept me going up to this point. 🙏🏽💯💪🏽❤️
Would LOVE some nightshift tips 🤞
Love the emphasis that balance is individualized for everyone. It’s not a one-size-fits-all formula 👏🏽👏🏽
Just found your account recently. I’m so grateful for all of your suggestions and recipes! I am a nurse too and I either eat junk all day or I eat nothing. I’m doing my first meal prep this week using some of your posts for inspiration! Also joined a gym for the first time in my life last month and genuinely enjoy the me time it gives. Hope to find my stride soon and start cutting down some of my fat and increase some of my energy. Thanks for all you do!
